As the school year progresses more homework piles up, more time is devoted to baseball or golf practice, and we start to realize all the other commitments that we have made. As this happens it becomes harder to stick to our commitments to a life of prayer and devotion to God. Let us not forget who we say we are, and what we say we are. We are called to be set-apart and holy. Part of being holy, or a Christian (Christ-like), means to remember how Christ himself spent his day. From what we can read in the New Testament most of his day was spent in prayer, meditation, teaching, and even caring for others. As you go throughout your day and you look at the stack of homework that needs to be done, the sports paraphernalia that is starting to get dirty and used, and all of the other things that call upon us; don't forget what it means to be a Christian, to be Christ-like and holy. Take sometime to say a good word to someone around you, or to kneel in prayer to the God that cares for you. |
