Judy Cox - Building Director

Judy Cox is in charge of taking care of the building.  She has been with the church for over 20 years.  Judy's first love is children.  She is responsible for keeping the building clean and the yard kept.  She is also behind the scenes opening the building 6 days a week and doing many different things.

Judy went on her Walk to Emmaus in 1998.  She has encouraged many people to experience this faith walk.  She is also a Stephen Minister.  You usually see Judy helping out with different children's activities from Vacation Bible School, to Advent Event and the Easter Egg Hunt.

Judy grew up in Pennsylvania and came to Texas in 1981. She has two sons, Robert & Jason, a daughter, Mary, a daughter-in-law, Tiffany (Jason's wife), a granddaughter, Kaylee, and a grandson, Braylon.

Larry McCord - Minister of Music

Larry McCord grew up in Oak Cliff and Duncanville and earned his music degrees at UT Arlington and SMU, followed by doctoral study at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and UT Austin.  He has served as a full-time instructor of music at three Texas colleges and is currently at Hill College in Hillsboro.  In 1999 and 2000 he performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City as jazz pianist with the St. Philips College Jazz  Choir.  Throughout his college teaching career, he has remained active in church music and served as Director of  Music at Whitehouse UMC, China Spring UMC and St. Marks UMC in Mesquite.  Larry grew up in the UMC, his father serving as a choir director and worship leader and his  mother playing organ and serving as church secretary.  He has two daughters, Katherine, who lives in the Garland area, and Michaela, who is currently a student at Hill College.  When he’s not teaching or leading music, Larry enjoys spending time with friends and family, attending live  performances, watching movies, reading and cheering on his favorite sports teams.

Roy Pender - Director of Youth Ministries

Roy Pender grew up in Midlothian, Texas, graduating High School in 2011. He went on to serve in various ministries including: Worship Leader for FUMC Midlothian; Councilor at Carolina Creek Christian Camps in Huntsville, Texas; international Missions with the Christian Caribbean Center for the Deaf in Jamaica; involvement with Kai Alpha; and as an intern under Youth Director Jason Westbrook at FUMC Midlothian. Roy received an associates degree from Navarro College in Midlothian, Texas and is continuing his education through A&M Commerce.
